DESCRIPTION:94% of barristers and solicitors in England and Wales work with traumatised clients\, yet fewer than 1 in 10 have received any trauma training. \n\n\n\nWe’re delighted to be hosting a training session dedicated to supporting family lawyers in understanding and managing trauma in clients. \n\n\n\n\n\nEvent details:\n\n\n\n\nDate: 7th October 2026\n\n\n\nTime: 11:30am – 3pm (lunch included)\n\n\n\nVenue: Killik & Co\, Mayfair\, London\n\n\n\nLearning Hours: 2 hours 30 minutes\n\n\n\nCost: £96\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDeveloped by Laura Rosefield and Hannah Budd of Rosefield Divorce Consultancy\, this training combines neuroscience\, practical skills\, and real client examples to help family law professionals understand trauma\, recognise it in clients\, and adapt how they work as a result. \n\n\n\nHosted at Killik & Co\, this one-off\, in-person training session is a wonderful opportunity to learn from two highly respected specialists in the sector. Thank you for your support. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nRegister now\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat you will learn:\n\n\n\n\nHow trauma presents specifically across divorce and separation\, financial remedy\, and private law children proceedings\n\n\n\nHow the legal process itself can re-traumatise clients\n\n\n\nPractical indicators to watch for in clients\, and how to adapt practice to meet their needs\n\n\n\nPractical techniques to help clients regulate their nervous systems\n\n\n\nVicarious traumatic stress as an occupational hazard for family law professionals\n\n\n\n\nMeet the presenters:\n\n\n\n\nLaura Rosefield Senior Partner at Rosefield Divorce Consultancy   \n\n\n\nLaura is the founder of Rosefield Divorce Consultancy\, drawing on her legal background to help clients navigate divorce as efficiently\, cost-effectively\, and constructively as possible\, with a particular focus on protecting children’s welfare throughout. Her approach is informed by her own experience of the Children Act and financial proceedings\, including giving evidence at a Final Hearing. Before founding her consultancy\, she graduated from Cambridge University with a degree in History and qualified as a barrister\, earning five scholarships from Middle Temple. She went on to practise Criminal Law at the Bar\, appearing daily in the magistrates’\, Crown\, and High Courts. \n\n\n\n\n\nHannah Budd Divorce Consultant and Partner Rosefield Divorce Consultancy  \n\n\n\nHannah works as a divorce consultant\, combining her legal background with practical and emotional support to give clients flexibility and continuity throughout their separation. She is trained in child psychology and trauma to ensure her work is psychologically informed and child-centred. She is a member of Resolution and a judge for the Lexis Nexis Family Law Awards\, and was named “Top Recommended” in The Spears 2024 Divorce Consultancy and Support Services Legal Indices.
