Daisy Through the Looking Glass
Written and directed by Stephen Wildblood KC
The play: Told in a reverse chronology, this play centres on Dave, Maggie and their daughter, Daisy. When Dave and Maggie’s marriage falls apart, the couple have to navigate the family courts – and one of them is unrepresented. Reflecting on the impact of a messy divorce, Daisy Through the Looking Glass is a hard-hitting, must-see production. Written by Stephen Wildblood and starring Jacob Crossley (Support Through Court) and Carlie Norris (Circle Mediation Limited).
This play contains some very strong language. It also covers themes of physical, sexual and emotional abuse, and also of suicide. There is one scene which shows a loud incident of violence. If those themes are likely to upset you profoundly, you may wish not to attend the play.
After the play, the actors will remain in their roles and will answer questions from the audience. – what is the truth about the allegations of domestic abuse? What do they think about the private law system? Then, there will be a discussion with the audience about the play and the issues that it raises.
