Leave a gift in your Will

For many people, going to court comes suddenly and without warning, an eviction notice, a custody dispute, or a family crisis. For those who cannot afford legal help, the court system can feel daunting, confusing, and overwhelming.

This year marks 25 years of Support Through Court, helping people through court when they have nowhere else to turn. With your support, we can continue this vital work.

Why leave a legacy?

Your will is a statement of your values and the difference you want to make in the world. By remembering Support Through Court in your Will, you become part of a lasting legacy of fairness, dignity, and justice.

Over the next five years, we are:

  • Scaling up our services so we can reach more people, in more places
  • Investing in technology to connect with clients nationwide
  • Recruiting and training more volunteers to stand beside those facing court alone

With a gift in your Will, you’ll help ensure this vital support continues for generations to come.

There’s absolutely no obligation to leave a gift to Support Through Court. However, many people choose to do so as a way of helping ensure that no one has to face court alone in the future. A gift of any size can make a lasting difference.

Already have a Will?

If you already have a Will and would like to leave a gift to Support Through Court, you don’t need to rewrite it.

Danielle’s story

“I’ve seen a lot of confused and desperate people in my time as a volunteer, but Danielle’s case was one of the worst…”

Danielle had no savings and couldn’t afford a solicitor. Overwhelmed by the financial paperwork for her divorce, she grew increasingly anxious that mistakes would give her abusive husband more control—or delay the process. Unable to sleep or eat, Danielle was terrified of what might happen next.

Thanks to Support Through Court, Danielle was able to get help, find clarity, and feel calmer and more confident about her case.

And she’s not alone. Last year, we supported people like Danielle on 45,653 occasions:

  • 95% said they had more confidence after speaking to one of our volunteers
  • 96% said it helped them to be better prepared
  • 96% said they better understood court procedures

That’s the power of support—and the power of a lasting legacy.

By leaving a gift in your Will, you can help ensure that:

  • People facing court without a lawyer continue to receive practical and emotional support
  • Families and individuals get a fairer hearing and better access to justice
  • Lives are changed for the better — and the justice system becomes fairer for everyone

Your legacy could be the difference between someone facing court alone, and someone walking into court with confidence and dignity.
