Nikita’s story

We first met Nikita when she was getting a divorce. She couldn’t afford a lawyer but was unable to access legal aid. Her only option was to represent herself in court. Nikita was linked with Amy, who listened to her story, and helped her prepare for the hearing, filling in forms and thinking about next steps together. On the day, Amy went to court with Nikita. Nikita felt confident and delivered her story clearly. Her divorce was finalised.

Unfortunately, this was not the end of Nikita’s legal journey. Her ex-husband continued the abuse, and she had to return to court. With Amy by her side, Nikita presented her case, and the judge granted her a non-molestation order to prevent her ex-husband from harassing her. Finally, Nikita felt safe and could move on with her life.

Every day, people face court without legal representation during a stressful time in their lives. Your donation helps ensure they don’t have to do it alone. Every donation received will help us support people like Nikita. Thank you for your support.
